I don’t remember exactly how Adrian and I(Tom) connected but I do recall seeing his artwork and beyond the bright colors, textures and imagery that evoke a sense of historical context for people of color, he was also drawing eyewear. It’s not every day I see an artist with a keen interest in eyewear so I reached out and asked if he was interested in bringing one of his designs to life, the rest is history.
This style is dedicated to my father, Named “The Machinist” in remembrance father Willie James Franks Jr., who was a Journeyman Master Machinist (Ironman). “The Machinist” frames celebrate the zeal of those who do the work.
This is a cool style and unlike many designs I(Tom) develop, this took one iteration, one shot and it was right.
Having the process go this smoothly resulting in a keenly unique frame design is really cool and speaks to our energy being in total alignment.
